Freaky Deaky 2022, the most anticipated Halloween party in Texas, was an event that will forever be etched in my memory. The festival may not have boasted the most stacked lineup, but it had something far more valuable – an atmosphere of camaraderie, creativity, and pure, unadulterated fun.
The festival grounds were a sea of vibrant colors and imaginative costumes, each one more creative and intriguing than the last. From the whimsical to the wild, the sexy to the scary, the variety was a testament to the spirit of Halloween and the creativity of the attendees. Amidst this kaleidoscope of characters, I found myself dressed as Prince Hanz, a costume that was both a nod to my love for fairy tales and a playful twist on the traditional prince charming.
The highlight of the festival, without a doubt, was Subtronics. Even in a lineup that was not particularly stacked, he stood out like a beacon, his music a siren call that drew in the crowd. His set was a masterclass in electronic music, a journey through beats and rhythms that was as exhilarating as it was mesmerizing. It was worth attending the festival for his performance alone.
But what truly made the night special were my friends, Gabe and Peter. Their energy and enthusiasm were infectious, their laughter a constant soundtrack to the night. We danced, we laughed, we lost ourselves in the music, and in doing so, we created memories that will last a lifetime. They were the heart and soul of the experience, the ones who turned a great night into an unforgettable one.
Freaky Deaky 2022 was more than just a festival, it was a celebration of friendship, of music, and of the joy of letting go and embracing the moment. It was a night of magic and mischief, a night where we could shed our everyday selves and become whoever we wanted to be. And as I looked around at the sea of smiling faces, the pulsating lights, and the starlit Texas sky, I knew that this was a night I would never forget.
