Fvded in the Park 2022

Fvded In The Park 2022 in Surrey, Canada surprised me. On paper it looks like a “smaller” festival, but the lineup was stacked: Excision, Illenium, Gryffin, Slander, Seven Lions, Dabin, TroyBoi, and a bunch of other names that pulled in very different crowds.

The vibe: the Canada stereotype is real

The most unexpected part was how easy the crowd felt. Less pushing, fewer tense moments, and even the annoying stuff (like bathroom lines) was… weirdly smooth. Call it politeness, call it luck, but it made the whole day feel lighter.

Day one: peak festival energy

Slander played during the day. I had fun, but I’ll always prefer that kind of set after dark.

They teased “Suffer” (which I was waiting for), but it got cut short. Still a good set: just left me wanting the full moment.

Seven Lions was one of my favorites of the weekend: the kind of set that can go melodic and heavy without feeling scattered.

Then Excision did what Excision does: maximum impact, huge sound, and everyone locked in.

During that set I ended up dancing next to a girl with unreal energy. Later someone told me it was Excision’s wife. I have no idea if that’s true, but it’s a funny “festival rumor” detail that made the night feel even more surreal.

Day two: still good, just not the same height

Day two didn’t top day one for me. Illenium’s set was solid, but after the first night’s intensity it felt softer than what my brain wanted.

Fvded was better than I expected: a lineup that punches above its weight, an unusually friendly crowd, and a first day that felt like the entire trip condensed into one great run of sets.
